What is Massage Therapy(RMT)?
According to the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario."Massage Therapy is the assessment of the soft tissue and joints of the body and the treatment and prevention of physical dysfunction and pain of the soft tissues and joints by manipulation to develop, maintain, rehabilitate or augment physical function,or relieve pain."
Soft tissues of the body includes muscles, connective tissue, tendons, ligaments and joints.It involves using a variety of techniques of different pressures to relax and reduce areas of pain in the body and promote better health.
At our clinic we offer Massage Therapy for a variety of Musculoskeletal related conditions.After a review of your Health History and assessment develop a treatment plan and treatments individualized to each client.

Registered Massage Therapy services.However if you are using a Health Insurance Plan some require a Doctors Referral for purposes of reimbursement.Please check with your insurance provider for details on your individual plan.
Yes,we directly bill most insurance companies for massage therapist services.
Receipts are also issued at the end of each session for Insurance reimbursement purposes.
Massage Therapy services are covered extensively by third party health insurance plans.These include: automobile insurance, worker’s compensation boards, private health care insurers and student health care plans. We also accept other forms of payment such as debit,credit,cash.
Massage Therapy is a Regulated health profession in Ontario and should only be performed by a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT).

No.Level of undress will depend on your comfort,the areas to be treated and the goals of treatment.The massage therapist will leave the room and you will be instructed to get undressed to your level of comfort and get on the table and cover with the sheets .Once you're on the table the therapist will ask for permission to re-enter the room. The client is completely covered during the massage and only the area being worked on is exposed at a set time.There is also the option of receiving the treatment through your clothing.
Upon arrival you will be required to fill out a confidential Health History form.Then we will discuss your concerns and goals of treatment after which an assessment will be done with your consent and a treatment plan will be developed to meet your treatment goals.The massage therapy treatment session will begin once you have given Informed Consent.
Some muscle soreness or tenderness may be experienced or is normal after a massage session depending on your condition or techniques used.However all techniques will be done within your comfort and level of tolerance.
This would depend on varying factors.Such as whether your condition is acute,chronic or looking for relaxation massage and maintenance.It can range from 1-2 times per week to 1 time a month.A treatment program will be discussed that best suits your needs or condition.
